Our Team

As President, Michael Morette leads the Morette Company team using a set of core values that are reflected in the day-to-day operations of the company and its employees. Morette Company has earned an excellent reputation through our continued focus on these central philosophies. We feel strongly that our many repeat clients, as well as those seeking our services, are a tribute to our professionalism and success.

Morette Company engages and employs more than one thousand people annually, including architects, engineers, development experts, financial planners, project managers, superintendents, major subcontractors and allied support personnel. Our integrated approach provides complete project development, financial planning, architectural and interior design, as well as structural, mechanical and civil engineering services.

Our management team recognizes and understands the challenges owners, developers, architects, and engineers are faced with and we offer innovative solutions for meeting those challenges. Working with qualified subcontractors, we are able to maintain the highest level of quality and service. Our strong, established relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, who understand our values and our requirements, ensure we meet our obligations.

Michael Morette President

Michael has over a decade of construction experience and has been involved in the industry since his childhood. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida School of Building Construction, Michael began his career as a project manager with PPI Construction Management. In 2005, he returned home to work alongside his father, Rick. Michael assumed the role of President in 2009 following the loss of his father. Since that time, Michael’s strong leadership skills, attention to detail and commitment to owner satisfaction have upheld Rick’s ideals and Morette Company’s position as one of the premier providers of construction services in Northwest Florida. Michael’s expertise working on busy, operational campuses, coupled with his focus on team development and management, assure he is an asset to any project team.

As President of Morette Company, Michael personally oversees all aspects of the firm’s project development, management and field operations.

Michael is currently active on several local boards including the Coastal Bank & Trust Board, Pensacola State College Board of Governors, the Baptist Health Care Foundation and Pathways for Change. He was a member of the 2008 Class of the Greater Pensacola Chamber’s Leadership Pensacola and was recognized as a Rising Star by the Independent News in 2009.

Michael has also been included multiple times in the Inweekly’s annual “Power List” of the top 100 most influential people in Pensacola.

Steve Peranich Projects Coordinator

Steve has over 32 years of construction experience and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering Technology from Mississippi State University. He began his career in the Pensacola Bay Area in 1985 with the Dyson Company / Opus South Construction Corporation where he worked until early 2009. Steve then served as Vice President / General Manager of Roy Anderson Corp’s Pensacola Office from 2009 -2012. Following the acquisition of Roy Anderson Corp by Tutor Perini, Steve continued as a Senior Project Manager on projects throughout the Southeast. In early 2015, Steve returned home to Pensacola and joined the Morette Company Team as Projects Coordinator.

As Projects Coordinator for Morette Company, Steve is responsible for the Project Management Teams and project management operations of the Morette Company Team. He staffs the projects, manages, mentors and monitors the project management teams to ensure that Morette Company and our client’s goals for safety, budget, schedule and quality are met. Steve is experienced in hard bid, negotiated, design-build, and construction management project delivery methods. His project experience includes institutional, education, office, industrial, retail, multi-family and sports facilities.

Steve and his wife Angel, an elementary school teacher, have three sons. He has been actively involved in the community and his church throughout his career. He served as President of the Cantonment Rotary Club, President and Board Member of the Miracle League of Pensacola, Board Member of Florida’s Great Northwest, Board Member of the local NAIOP Chapter and a 2002 graduate of Leadership Pensacola. He is a State of Florida Certified General Contractor and holds certifications in First Aid / CPR, OSHA 10 Hour, EM 385, and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors.

David is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Building Construction and has spent his entire professional career as a member of the Morette Company team. He has over three decades of experience estimating projects in the local construction market. David’s knowledge of and relationships with the local subcontractor workforce is unsurpassed.

As Chief Estimator, David is responsible for valuing the construction costs for all Morette Company projects.

David is currently active on several local boards including the City of Pensacola Zoning Board of Adjustments, the East Hill Neighborhood Association and the Better Business Bureau. He is also an active member of Downtown Rotary, First United Methodist Church and Roger Scott Tennis Center.

Morette Company embraces the need for environmental responsibility and is committed to protecting and preserving our environment. We have taken the initiative to become certified sustainable builders. With several LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professionals on staff, Morette Company has moved to the forefront in constructing LEED buildings that have a measurable and immediate impact on our community. We understand the complexities of building projects with sustainable features and designs integrated into today’s new generation of green buildings and we stand ready to meet these challenges.

General Contractor of the Year

Morette Company has set the standard for area contractors and construction managers. As a testament to our high standards, the American Subcontractors Association of Northwest Florida named Morette Company - "General Contractor of the Year" - five out of the last seven years the award was presented. The award honored the contractor that demonstrated an exceptional ability to manage projects and provide a degree of quality above the standard while maintaining a partnering relationship with owners, subcontractors and suppliers. Our continuing commitment to this high standard of operation is unwavering.
